Every graphic designer requires a purpose when making them. We always want our design, in the end, able to capture viewers' attention. So knowing every little detail regarding your target audience is a must. It's like when you play poker, understanding how other players' play, will gratefully help you win the game.
Not just learn to see, but actually listen to what your customer wants and needs. From there, take any pointers where you can use to help them. In other words, capturing their attention.
For example like the recent big event that happens when every new year comes, that is New Year.Haha. Get it? It would be perfect for every graphic designer to go for a New Year theme template when designing. Having elements like fireworks, shiny and glittering effects, and actual 2020 number that represents the new year, will greatly boost your graphic design.
Don't forget about the colors choosing too. It's important as well. If you have a text-based graphic design as your main focus. Then, make sure your surrounding elements won't over-powered your main text. If it is, then there's a chance where people won't get the meaning of what you trying to deliver. (as example shown below)
Simple right? So let us share with you some extra useful tips (aside from what has been discussed above) when designing any graphic design of your own. We usually will start off with finding the close to the right (1st)template to go for. The template doesn't have to be so accurate. Remember that you will always able to edit them later on. It's just that you won't have to edit them so much when you got very close to nice accurate template for your theme.
Like our latest New Year graphic design. We go for this template from freepik to be used as our base or guidance. It basically has all elements that we plan to put on our design. ALL actually~ :-D
So, our design ended up looking like this (shown below). Can you guys spot the differences? Haha. We know what you guys literally going to say. But hear us out first...
We got nothing. We just too lazy to create a new one every time any event comes up. So why not just use what's already been made and adjust it to your liking (NO! You should adjust it to what your target audience want to see). Anyway, as long as it does its job. Everything's fine. Ps: We did change and put our little spidey guy. You can't call that totally lazy right?
Okay. Onto the next one that is (2nd)color palates. Things will get easier if you can decide to follow us and do this too. Just ready them beforehand and paste them anywhere near your graphic design. Trust us! You will save all troubles of finding the right color theme. For those who don't know how to create your own color palates, then click here to get one. It's totally worth it.
So that's all for today's sharing session guys and gals. Hopefully, we are able to help you somehow get the idea of how you guys can too, leverage the use of existing template when designing your own graphic design.
Happy trying then. Thank you!
